We have been blessed with nice building facilities to aid in church worship and fellowship activities. It is our hope that this building can also be used by other groups and organizations, particularly those providing positive influences to the community. The church facility use policy, fees and application can be viewed from this website or obtained from the church office.

Sanctuary

The sanctuary at First Presbyterian Church is fully accessible for all who are able to come. Spaces are available for wheelchairs in the pew seating area. The sanctuary contains a Steinway upright piano and an organ in the alcove next to the pulpit.

The Rogers Fellowship Hall and restrooms are easily accessible from the back of the sanctuary.

The Rogers Fellowship Hall is adjacent to the sanctuary and serves as a gathering place not only for our congregation, but the community at large. It is fully accessible and contains a well-outfitted kitchen and restrooms. There is also a baby grand piano and sound system for the hall.

Nursery

The church provides a nursery and attendants for all church functions. The nursery is available for children up to second grade and contains age appropriate toys and art materials for working on projects. A crib is available for babies. A small playground with swings, slides, and space to run is located at the back of the church as well.

 

Basement Kitchen and Meeting Space


For those who can negotiate stairs, there is a basement kitchen and meeting space. Restrooms are just down the hall. In addition to serving as the classroom for the Senior High Sunday School Class, this room hosts weekly meetings of T.O.P.S (5:15 p.m. on Monday evenings and 9:00 a.m. on Friday mornings) and Alcoholics Anonymous. AA holds a Beginners Open Meeting on Sunday afternoon at 1:00 p.m.

 

The PYG Pen


The PYG Pen in the basement of First Presbyterian Church.

The "PYG pen" is adjacent to the kitchen area in the The PYGs at play in their PYG Penbasement. It is the special hideaway for the PYGs (Presbyterian Youth Group) and serves as their home away from home during church overnight events. Several game tables and couches encourage fun and fellowship in a relaxed atmosphere.

 

The Ingram Room

The Ingram room is located in the basement and is used primarily as the classroom for the Middleschool Sunday School Class. It has a functioning fireplace, couches, tables and painted murals to make it a welcoming room for the PYGs and their guests.

 

Baker Cooperative Preschool

The Copmmunity Preschool located in the Church Basement

The church provides space for a community preschool in the basement. They also have access to the playground at the back of the church. This is a co-operative preschool and parents are expected to assist as classroom volunteers 1-2 times a month. Many parents serve on the preschool board. The preschool runs 5 days a week, from 8:20-11:00 a.m. Three-year-olds come Tuesday and Thursday; four-year-olds come Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Tuition is $55/month for three year olds, and $60 for four-year-olds. Registration for fall ends mid-MayPlayground area in back of First Presbyterian Church.. If you would like to put your child's name on the waiting list, please contact our church office presby@bakervalley.net or call 523-5201, and we will contact the preschool registrar.

The church has no direct involvement with the preschool beyond renting them the basement classrooms. However, we are glad to provide them a home for their educational contribution to the community.
